Celebrating 10 years...connecting people who care
 with causes that matter.

"Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing." - Rollo May

What are the Community Foundation Conversations?
They are our way of learning the needs and funding priorities in our Western Nevada community. We invite nonprofit organizations working in a specific sector or area of interest to prioritize their critical needs and to let our donors know where they can be of the most help. This involves discussions between nonprofit groups to decide their sectors' funding priorities, reporting back to the Community Foundation and the Community Foundation relaying these priorities to our fund holders and interested community donors.

We do this as a service to our fund holders who look for grant opportunities that really make a difference. We do this as a service to the nonprofit organizations who find that by meeting, communicating, and collaborating  and by setting funding priorities much intrinsic good is accomplished. We do this as well for us. By convening the conversations our program committee and staff learn what is going on in nonprofit services, we use that knowledge to serve our fund holders.

Below are the Funding Priorities Reports for the Arts and Culture, Natural Resources and Education Areas of Interest. Priority reports for these areas will be updated for 2008. We are still listening for information regarding funding priorities in Human Services. Health, Humanities and Libraries are the next subjects of conversation.
