Fundholder Lilli Trinchero receives the Inspiring Philanthropist Award from Executive Director, Chris Askin. Lilli was honored for her work with the Community Foundation and the Washoe County School District to develop and fund the No More Bullies Program for elementary schools.
Our mission at the Community Foundation is to encourage philanthropy by providing you with an efficient vehicle for your generosity. We enable you to express yourself. We promote the philosophical principals of charitable giving. To that end we offer our fund holders the following services.

Objective grant recommendations and advice at your request.
Monitoring of charities you support and grants given to ensure that your funds are used as you intend, now and forever.
Accountablitly and fiscal responsibility. You will receive an annual report detailing the results from our annual audit.
Professional investment management with the expertise of the highest caliber is provided by our Investment Committee. A copy of our investment policy is available to you and your financial advisors.
Regular Communication through quarterly fund statements listing all grant activity as well as investment interest and fund balance. You will receive copies of out-going letters that accompany grant checks. The annual report and semi-annual newsletters will be mailed to you. Our staff is available by phone or email at your convenience.
The Annual Meeting is held at the end of May to give donors the opportunity to talk directly with the members of our Board of Trustees and Advisors.
Opportunities for community awareness and donor education are offered as we spotlight one of our funding focus areas through our Community Conversations. Conversations allow donors to become more award of the work being done by nonprofit agencies and their specific pressing funding needs within that charitable sector.
