Fund Investments

The Community Foundation of Western Nevada holds all assets in accounts which provide an investment return. Short-term and temporary assets are held in money market accounts, while endowed and other long-term designated assets are invested.

Invested assets are held in accordance with the Foundation’s investment policies in multiple pooled accounts. Each pooled account is structured in accordance with an investment policy that designates allocation of account assets into specific investment classes with additional requirements on investments, and sets benchmarks for measuring performance.

The Foundation Finance and Investment Committee reviews all Foundation financial information monthly, and conducts an in-depth review of all investment accounts with investment managers twice annually. Investment policies and account investment allocations are reviewed and adjusted, as deemed necessary by the Committee, following the investment performance review meetings.

The Foundation will consider establishing new investment relationships with professional advisors with the establishment of significant new funds and/or gifts. All investment accounts must follow approved Foundation investment policies, and are accountable to the Finance and Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees for performance and adherence to policies.
