Who We Serve
The Community Foundation provides service for three distinct constituencies: Donors, Professional Financial and Estate Advisors, and Nonprofit Organizations.

>The Community Foundation of Western Nevada was established in February 1998. >As of December 31 2008 we have assets (gifts) totaling over $37 million. > Over $4 million in grants were distributed in 2008 to nonprofits in and beyond our  community. >The Community Foundation has distributed over $36 million in grants and  scholarships. > Hundreds of separate charitable funds comprise the Foundation.

Services

• Facilitation of unusual or complex gifts. The Foundation has facilitated gifts of real estate, personal property, appreciated securities and income producing interests in lease-held properties.
• Planned giving expertise. The Foundation can help you make planned gifts such as Charitable Remainder Trusts, Gift Annuities and Life Insurance.
• Grant making guidance. We make sure your gift is used as you intend.
• We help nonprofit organizations build income producing endowments.

• Donor Advised Funds encourage donors to direct their charitable grants.A donor advised fund has the advantages of a private foundation without the expense or paperwork.
• Scholarships for college to pre-school, are a popular way to connect directly with a deserving young person.
• Field of Interest Funds can support your charitable passions forever.
• Organizational Endowments sustain nonprofits and encourage planned gifts.
• Giving Circles encourage deeper philanthropic engagement, knowledge about our community needs and life-long giving habits.
